When the user plug-in headphone, Pie will ask to select the source to play music instantly. Adpative battery is another feature using on-device machine processing to improve battery life. Overall it seems that Android 9 is going to provide a sweet pie like experience to Xperia flagship users.

Slices is one of the remarkable features of Android Pie which improves user experience a lot. Horizontal App switcher is another big change coming with Android Pie update. In Android 8.0 Oreo, Sony used the stock vertical app switcher in its phones, but the upcoming update is going to revamp the app switcher totally. In Google Pixel phones, the horizontal app switcher looks awesome and improves user experience a lot. So Xperia XZ2 and XZ1 series users may get the same horizontal app switcher with big app previews with the Android 9 update.

However, in Android P Beta on Xperia XZ2, the app previews appear smaller than that on Google Pixel. But many changes and refinements may take in the upcoming final release of Pie for Xperia flagships.
